high mountain rocky day #2

high mountain rocky day #2

Today we climbed 11,000 ft up and over Vail Summit through wispy silver blankets of clouds, down winding wet rocky mountain roads, past masses of masochistic uphill road bike racers, eventually reaching Denver by evening.

Just before 7pm our trailer tire exploded or something. Two hours later we’re still trapped here…all the tire/repair shops have already closed for the night. Fortunately (although I hate to admit it) it looks like Walmart Supercenter is going to save the day lol. Chad and 2012 just got back so with any luck we’ll be back on the road in less than an hour.

Then onward through Tornado Alley…

balmy day #1 on the road

balmy day #1 on the road

loaded the trailer up early this morning and hit the road. armed with enough granola and kraft singles to feed a hippy commune, we’ve braved the sweltering triple digit heat of death valley and mesquite, nv. should be in colorado before midnight tonight.

it’s been great escaping the hazy grey of LA. the blue sky is stunning out here in the desert. i need to get outa the city more, i owe it to myself to breathe cleaner air balmy day #1 on the road

we should roll into boston on the 13th so we’ll see what happens along the way… 

t minus one day til the warp

The bass amp blew at rehearsal today so that sucked…hopefully I can pick up a replacement today. Tomorrow I hit the road with The Suicide Denial to link up with the Warped Tour in Boston. Crunch time. I look forward to a balmy summer on the east coast tho. I don’t feel nearly prepared as I probably should be but bring it on… Low End Theory tonight was ridiculous btw a perfect ending to my last week in LA for a while. Flying Lotus, Gaslampkiller, D-styles, Nocando, Nobody, and DaddyKev destroyed the Airliner with otherworldly subsonic collages of mayhem and freestyle freakiness. Thank you Low End ><

If you haven’t heard it yet, check out my new remix of “We Go Down Fighting” from The Suicide Denial’s new album.

Stay tuned for tour updates here. Peace.

GLK Takeover on dublab.com

tried to embed the feed from the dublab GLK takeover but it didn’t work…oh well. if you didn’t tune in you missed out. computer j, alter, gaslampkiller, jonwayne all threw down wicked beats spliced with gooey multi-genre collages of sonic bliss as they usually do, providing the perfect soundtrack for the afternoon.

if you haven’t seen em do their thing live before (and you live in LA), head down to low end theory at the airliner on wednesday nights. the residents never disappoint. or, check out the low end theory podcast it’s the next best thing.

also go buy jonwayne’s album “Bowser” you’ll be glad you did (^^)

reboot

this track’s been on the shelf while my plate’s been full with other projects. but i’m finally finishing it up for release in the near future. one or two more sessions before mixdown and that should be it. here’s a sneak peek with a velocity-sensitive light show

started this painting day before yesterday. don’t know what it is yet, it just kinda came out. we’ll see how the rest unfolds.

been busy in the studio organizing two albums worth of material. getting close to mixing both projects so i’m excited about that. only problem is my ears are kinda jacked for some reason, so i’ve gotta take it easy with the volume. probably an ear infection or something stupid like that.

watched this crazy documentary w/ the suicide denial about the mothman stuff that happened back in the 60′s. it’s on netflix check it out it’s weird.

finished up a second piano album a few weeks ago. decided to release it digitally (as free downloads for now) on soundcloud until i can work out a decent marketing strategy. in the meantime donations are always welcome from the sidebar.

Check out the new piano stuff “Sketchbook No.2″ using the player below. Cheers (^-^)
