We played a great show last Friday in Billings, MT. To make things exciting, Chad’s Rivera Knucklehead blew its transformer during our soundcheck the night before…not a good thing. Unfortunately we’d have to wait until we got back to LA to fix it. Luckily a local music shop let us borrow an amp for the night so the show could go on.
Chad ended up having to buy a new Marshall head to last us the rest of the tour. Doesn’t exactly have the same flavor as the Rivera, but it gets the job done alright. At least we have a backup now moving forward.
Arrived in Rapid City, SD Sunday evening after a long drive through the emptiness of southern Wyoming. The show was at a local all ages joint. We played with a couple metal bands which made it one of the more unique gigs so far. Primordial Flame, a local Progessive Metal band, put on a great show abundant with synthy sickness.
After we got all the gear loaded back up we grabbed some food and hit the road to Colorado, passing through a very dark Mt. Rushmore on the way. Almost left our drummer 2012 behind by accident lol. The road from Rapid City to Denver was an obstacle course of deer, owls, foxes, and battle stags. I’m amazed we made it to Colorado without any roadkill on the grill.
The drive from Colorado through New Mexico was surprisingly gorgeous, reminiscent of the land of Rohan from Middle Earth. We played at Evangelos, an underground bar in the historic district of Santa Fe. For such a short notice event they did a killer job putting it all together. We’ll definitely be back.
Tonight we’re supposed to play in Tuscon, although we haven’t heard much from the venue. The show has been confirmed for over two months now, so we’ll see what happens when we show up…
